ABSTRACT
We present the power and spectral characteristics of 1.55 μ MQW DFB laser diodes. The device parameters including a coupling coefficient and wavelength detuning are optimized to improve the laser performance. A slope efficiency of ~0.3 mW/mA per facet and a single longitudinal mode operation up to 27 mW with a SMSR of larger than 36 dB are achieved.
