ABSTRACT
The correlation between the gain-coefficient decreasing over a relatively long plasma medium for recombination Li-like Si ion soft-x-ray laser and the decreasing of average electron density in the spatial region of amplification, was found in experiment and will be analysed in this paper. The correlation is related to the original plasma nonuniformity imprinted by nonuniform line-focused laser irradiation.
