ABSTRACT

The amplified spontaneous emission (ASE) is studied with the help of solving the parabolic equation (PE) for the field amplitude by the Monte-Carlo technique and solving the equation for the transverse correlation function (TCF). The TCF-method is more advantageous than the PE-method in case of ASE with incomplete spatial coherence. When the ASE intensity is close to the saturation intensity, the statistical linearization of the equation for TCF leads to a small overestimation of the values of ASE mean radiant intensity whereas the intensity profile shape is not deformed.
