ABSTRACT

Temperature dependence of excitation spectra of photoluminescence (~2.0 eV) related to internal Mn2+ transition (MnPL) and infrared (~1.2 eV) one (IRPL) are investigated. The peak of IRPL excitation spectra (IRPLE) in Cd0.4Mn0.6Te is at Mn2+ d-d internal transition as in the case of MnPL at high temperatures and at low temperatures the peak is at its band gap energy. But in Cd0.8Mn0.2Te, the peak of IRPLE is near its band gap energy for all temperatures. We discuss these temperature dependencies and the energy relaxation in the excited states of Cd1–xMnxTe.
