ABSTRACT

By the method Perturbed γ-γ Angular Correlation (PAC) the local structure of ternary defect chalcopyrite semiconductors is investigated. With suitable probe nuclei the quadrupole interaction at each of the 5 regular lattice sites including the vacancy position is measured. The nuclear probes are implanted in most cases. The probabilities of the site occupation are discussed and the measured electric field gradients (efg) are compared with theoretical efg from ab-initio all-electron calculations.
