ABSTRACT

Optical absorption spectra and the Faraday effect in crystals of Cd1-xHgxSe: Mn have been studied. The studied samples have been characterized abrupt absorption edge and transparency region with high transmission coefficient. The measured values of Verdet constant were conciderably larger than in II-VI nonmagnetic semiconductors. The spectral, temperature and magnetic field dependences of the Faraday rotation has been analyzed in framework of single-oscillator model and influence of exchange interaction between electronic and magnetic subsystems.
