ABSTRACT

Gd 4f and Eu 4f contributions to the electronic structures of Sn0.95Gd0.05Te, Pb0.95Gd0.05S and Pb0.95Eu0.05S were studied by means of the resonant photoemission spectroscopy. The energy distribution curves were analyzed and the binding energies of Eu 4f and Gd 4f shells were determined. The influence of the host crystal on the binding energies of RE 4f shells was discussed.
