ABSTRACT
Two standard methods for the estimation of the toxicity of biomaterials have been carried out on Copper Indium Selenide and related chalcopyrite semiconductors containing Copper, Indium, Selenium, Sulphur and Gallium for the first time. All experiments with bulk and thin film samples of the compounds showed no indication of a special toxicity of the investigated solar cell materials.
