ABSTRACT

CuInxAl1-xSe2 (0 ≤ x ≤ 1) alloy ingots were prepared by direct fusion of the stoichiometric mixture of the elements. Analysis of X-ray diffraction (XRD) data showed the presence of chalcopyrite tetragonal structure at room temperature. The lattice parameters, a and c, and the bond lengths for different compositions were calculated. The phase equilibrium temperatures were obtained by Differential Thermal Analysis (DTA) measurements and the vertical section was constructed. Reflectivity and transmittance measurements allowed to determine the absorption coefficient a. The values of Eg were obtained from a plot of (ahv)2 vs hv for a direct gap semiconductor.
