ABSTRACT

The use of ion beam techniques in the study of CuInSe2 and related chalcopyrite crystals is reviewed and discussed. An example of ionography (helium ion patterns backscattered from CuInSe2 crystals) is presented and the application of random and aligned Rutherford Backscattering spectra from single crystals of CuInTe2 CuGaSe2 and CuInSe2 are discussed. Rutherford Backscattering Spectrometry of 2MeV He+ is used to study the in-diffusion of gold from a gold film deposited onto p- and n-type CuInSe2 single crystals after annealing at temperatures in the range from 100°C to 400°C.
