Compositional Dependence of Manganese Emission in ZnxMg1-xS Ternary Compound Thin Films

Zn_xMg_1-xS:Mn solid solution thin films have been prepared in the wide composition x between 0.13 and 1.0. The optical and photoluminescent properties have been investigated. The peak energy of the Mn emission band shows remarkable high energy shift with the increase of Mg composition. Photoluminescence intensity is enhanced by increasing the Mg content. The origin of the properties of Mn emission in Zn _xMg_1-xS have been briefly discussed.
