ABSTRACT

Photoluminescence (PL) spectroscopy is used to investigate the optical properties of single crystal copper indium diselenide (CIS), before and after implantation with H+ ions at very low energies. In addition to the characteristic donor acceptor pair (DAP) recombination the implanted areas show excitonic related luminescence. This is related to the ability of the hydrogen to passivate defect centres otherwise responsible for preventing such excitonic effects.
