Secondary electron imaging in characterisation of heterogeneous supported metal catalyst systems.

In recent years, high resolution secondary electron imaging has emerged as a useful tool in supported metal catalyst characterisation. However comparison of images taken in a high resolution SEM and a STEM suggest that the contrast mechanisms are rather complicated and here further studies (including Monte Carlo simulations) of these effects are presented.
