ABSTRACT

Resonators of the BaO·Nd2O3·Ti·2 solid-solution (BNT) phase have been synthesised by a mixed-oxide route. Various dopants, including Ca, Sr, and Pb, were used to tune electrical properties with varying degrees of success. Most samples show a multiphase character, with Nd4Ti9O24 and NdTiO3 being the main secondary phases. The space group of BNT may not conform to Pbnm (No. 62) symmetry, and the correct space group is possibly Pb21m (No. 26). The orientation relationship between NdTiO3 and BNT has also been established.
