ABSTRACT
This paper reports on the ELNES in transition metal nitrides with the rocksalt structure. The effect of the lattice parameter on the shape of the fine structure is investigated for different binary nitrides. Titanium and vanadium nitrides of various stoichiometries were also studied. Some preliminary results are presented from an investigation of the effect of substitution on the metal sub-lattice in the ternary (Ti0.9V0.1)N0.8.
