ABSTRACT

The decade of the nineties brought an explosion in the use of information and computer-based technologies. Higher education, in particular, is experiencing a significant impact from this rapid growth and diffusion. Colleges and universities are working to meet the challenge to prepare graduates to work and live in this rapidly changing technology-enhanced environment. The impact of the rapid growth and diffusion of information technologies is affecting social workers in all types of settings. Social work educators are struggling to keep pace with the impact of the technology explosion as they prepare graduates for practice activities in a technology-enhanced environment. Social work educators have been using information technologies to deliver the curriculum for many years. Social work education has used interactive television for distance education learning for almost twenty years.
