ABSTRACT

The aim of this paper is to investigate the utilization of critical thinking in different applications and in different types of learning environments. The art of analytical reading includes the same skills as those involved in the art of problem solving and communicating. These skills are essential to the process of filtering, assimilating, and finding new meaning in the torrents of information faced daily. Described are a problem-solving environment and Web communication systems, with the suggestion that the Web tools have not yet come up to faculty expectations for teaching and learning.
