ABSTRACT
The substitution of hydrogen atoms by fluorine in the chemical structure of some polymers causes many changes in the physical and chemical properties of these materials. Typically, this substitution turns the fluoropolymers both hydrophobic and incompatible with apolar compounds, as well as conferring them high chemical stability and thermal resistance.
