ABSTRACT
The aim of the lecture is to derive necessary optimality conditions for weight minimization of structures under dynamic load (second order evolution equation); the minimization problem is subject to constraints on the thickness of the structure and a pointwise constraint on the response of the structure (heuristic design sensitivity as well as a numerical algorithm has already been given in Haug and Feng (1978)).
