ABSTRACT
434The determination of antiviral activity of antibiotics can be a slow process, one not achieved by a single all-encompassing test. Instead, such determinations are accomplished by a carefully planned series of evaluations beginning with reasonably simple in vitro screening tests and then proceeding to appropriate animal experiments that, it is hoped, would be predictive of eventual efficacy in a clinical environment.
