Laser Treatment of the Nasal Cavities and Nasopharynx

With the development of new therapeutic instruments and modalities, significant temptation exists to utilize expensive instruments where conventional methods perform well. For example, common nasal polyps can be removed with lasers or nasal polyp snare wires. Unless medical advantages exist, the snare wire is a more economical instrument. In the early experiences with the laser or any new instrument or drug, experimentation is necessary to establish usefulness and cost-effectiveness.
