ABSTRACT
Studies of the application of crosslinked polyvinylpyridine as reagents, catalysts, and as supports for metallic catalysts and reagents are described. The synthesis of polymeric acylation catalysts of the 4-dimethylaminopyridine type and their effectiveness in esterifications and rearrangement are discussed. Process advantages of these catalysts are outlined.
