ABSTRACT

Some years ago, at the end of a survey article on locales, this chapter expresses an opinion that the theory of uniform locales was ripe for further development. The time thus seems ripe at last for developing a constructive theory of uniform locales — even though it still cannot be claimed that the theory is as simple as one would have wished. The chapter mentions that J. J. C. Vermeulen has in-depndently been investigating the constructive theory of uniform locales; full details of his results have not reached the author at the time of writing, but he understands that his has covered at least part of the same ground as myself.
