ABSTRACT

Given infinite cardinal numbers a ≤ b let P[a,b] be the class of all Hausdorff spaces of character not greater than b and such that every <a-intersection of open sets is open. It is known that a (Hausdorff) topological space X is [a,b]-compact iff for each P[a,b]-space Y the projection PY:X × Y → y is a closed map.
