ABSTRACT

368Methods for quantifying solubilization into micellar systems by NMR techniques, as based on spin relaxation and pulsed field gradient (FT-PGSE) self-diffusion measurements are reviewed, together with selected results from such studies. The FT-PGSE approach is a powerful, selective, and quantitative tool capable of providing detailed information on partitioning in complex surfactant and solubilizate systems. Complementary spin relaxation methods covered aim at a characterization of solubilizate ordering and local dynamics in the micellar framework.
