ABSTRACT
This is a report of recent joint work with Michel Benaïm of the University of Toulouse. Detailed proofs of the theorems on urn models will appear in Benaim and Hirsch,(in press). The material on stochastic Newton’s method is new; proofs will be given elsewhere.
