ABSTRACT
In recent years there has been an increasing interest in the study of spatio-temporal complexity in dynamical systems arising in many areas of science and engineering. Such problems are of considerable importance in the biological and medical sciences where complexity and chaos almost seem to be the norm rather than the exception.
