ABSTRACT
Gold sols with a narrow range of particle sizes have been prepared and added to high surface area supports. At lower temperatures, TEM and XRD measurements indicate that sintering occurs by continuous particle growth but at higher temperatures particle growth is rapid and is followed by "sintering" of polycrystal to single crystal particles.
