ABSTRACT

The aim of our work is to set up a 2D sintering model for ceramic materials and its computer simulation and to expand it into 3D. A computer program was written, modeling the sintering processes using materials constants and the distribution functions of grains and pores. The sintering model is started with a 2D and 3D microstructure respectively. The sintering process is described by interactions between the microstructural elements (grains, pores). The model shall enable us to calculate the processes during sintering and to compare this with results of image analyses of sintered samples.
