ABSTRACT

The important elements of the eye-glance behaviour and visual workload included looking at the horizon, booms, lightbar, mapping system, application display, tachometer, temperature gauge, and pressure gauge. Agricultural sprayer operators often perform night spraying to cope with time pressure. But, night driving is more difficult than day driving because of reduced visibility. Spraying of herbicides and pesticides is an important part of agricultural production. Sprayer operators make an average lateral error of 10% of their implement width. The data collection method for the task analysis included survey questionnaires that were sent out to a random group of sprayer operators in Manitoba. The personal information section gathered information on the age, gender, and handedness of the subjects; and whether they had any form of colour blindness.
