ABSTRACT

This chapter presents a set of preliminary results for the purpose of identification of a specific nonlinear function, and discusses the parabolic boundary value problem. A certain class of potential function is discussed for a given distributed observation. A least square quadratic technique is reviewed for the given distributed observation. The approximating problem is discussed with a set of corresponding theorems. The chapter also discusses the approximating identification process in one dimension. A bilinear optimal control problem is written as two successive minimization problems. For a fixed constraint, a set of optimality conditions is provided for solving the bilinear optimal control problem.
