ABSTRACT

Believe it or not, none of the office furniture on the market today is truly ergonomic. How can that be, with all of the products stamped “ergonomic” on its side? Well, in many cases, that is all they are as far as ergonomics is concerned. It is the same old furniture with a stamp saying “ergonomic” on the side. It is merely a ubiquitous marketing tool. I call them the “Ergonomics R Us” vendors. However, there are companies that sell office furniture that is adjustable. But ergonomics goes much farther than that. Even though office furniture is in some cases adjustable, unless it is adjusted to the person using the workstation, it is not ergonomic.
