ABSTRACT

The Beregovo ore field consists of the Beregovo Au-Pb-Zn, Muzievo Au-Ag-Pb-Zn and Kvasovo Ag-Pb-Zn epithermal deposits situated in the range from the center of the Beregovo explosive caldera to the east. Complicate ore zoning characterizes the ore objects. The deposits were formed for four stages during gradual attenuation of the hydrothermal activity. The first stage led to formation of sphalerite-galena-pyrite aggregates with different minor amount of pyrrhotite, pyrite, arsenopyrite, native antimony and boulangerite. The process led to oxidation and destruction of the primary sulfide aggregates, which served a geochemical barrier for deposition of Ag ores (as Ag-Sb sulfosalts) and later, with silver ejection, of Au ores (as electrum). The formed sulfideless bodies are characterized only economical content of Au.
