ABSTRACT

Three basic types of the native copper mineralisation in the West Ukraine are described: in basalts and their tuffs from the Volyn’ region, in altered micaceous peridotites on the middle-western part of the Ukrainian Shield and in metamorphized carbonate rocks on the north-western part of the Ukrainian Shield. On the basis of our investigations, we present a short characteristic of native copper: mineral assemblages, content in rocks, morphology and chemical composition, and characteristic minor impurities.
