ABSTRACT

For the first time (Pt,Fe)-, (Os,Ir,Ru)-, and (Ir,Os,Ru)- native alloys as well as sperrylite from alluvial deposits of SE Germany are described. 39 grains of PGM are studied using SEM and wavelength dispersive analysis. Generally nuggets are monomineral. They are different in size (0.0n - n.0 mm) and morphology (rounded grains, crystals etc.). The minerals of Os-Ir-Ru series are characterised by varying chemical composition. Some of them contain high amounts of Ru (more than 60 at.%). The results obtained are discussed in comparison with published data.
