ABSTRACT

Tungsten deposits in China have varied metallogenic types, mainly hydrothermal, skarn, porphyry, sedimento-metamorphic and granite types. Metallogenesis took place in the long time from the Proterozoic to the Himalayan Cycle (Cenozoic), but chiefly during the Yanshanian cycle (middle-late Mesozoic). The author introduces the characteristics of eight tungsten metallogenic belts in China, and considers that the main ore-controlling factors are the two types of granites and the source beds with various ages.
