ABSTRACT

The stratiform sedimentary exhalative (SEDEX) Topla zinc-lead deposit is hosted by Anisian dolostones of the Northern Karavanke Mts. The paragenetic and trace-element microprobe enabled a better understanding of the fluid source study, fluid pathway and genetic history. We propose the syntectonic exhalation of low temperature oxidised Mississippi Valley-Type (MVT) brines onto the evaporitic supratidal environment of the carbonate platform synchronous with the Middle Anisian (Old Slovene) tectonic phase. Topography driven fluids from the area of Bled were enriched in Zn and Pb along the fluid pathway within the clastic Middle Permian to Lower Triassic (Gröden/Permo-Scythian and evaporitic Bellerophon formations).
