ABSTRACT
Helgeland Holding is a private owned company in the north of Norway. Helgeland Plast in a worldwide sence is very well known for its products for fish farming business. In 1988 the company decided to launch a development project. The aim of the project was to develop equipment for the “next generation” of fish farming. A Correctly dimensioned mooring is necessary for a well run fish farming installation. The aim of the sub project was to develop an integrated mooring system between cages and platform. Another sub project develops a cage with accompanying net, suitable for farming in locations with up to 4 m significant height. Another sub project aims to develop acoustic instruments for surveillance of the fish in the cages. After some time of technical modification and equipment installation, the platform was towed to its location at Gifas, a research station for aquaculture close to Bodo.
