ABSTRACT

Interior chamber brooding is reported for Trachythyone amokurae (Mortensen, 1925); external brooding in anterior pockets and folds is reported for both Psolidiella nigra Mortensen, 1925 and Psolidiella adhaerens Hickman, 1962; and brooding in five anterior marsupia is reported for both Microchoerus splendidus Gutt, 1990 and a Cucumaria sp. from eastern Antarctica. The systematic status of these species is discussed. A list of brood-protecting and fissiparous holothurians in the family Cucumariidae is given, including the five newly reported herein.
