ABSTRACT
The Cromer Forest-bed Formation includes a series of freshwater and marine sediments exposed at the foot of the seacliffs of Norfolk and Suffolk in East Anglia. The characterisation of the members of the Formation in terms of paleobotany and environment of deposition is summarised and problems of stratigraphy noted. A correlation of the Cromerian Stage with Cromerian IV of the Netherlands appears acceptable.
