ABSTRACT

Palynological investigations of freshwater sediments at Hunteburg, near the Dümmersee (Niedersachsen, Germany) reveal a complete interglacial sequence which can be assigned to the ‘Cromerian Complex’ Stage. It is defined as the Hunteburg Interglacial. This interglacial sequence is followed by two stadial and one interstadial units. The interstadial unit is termed the Vennermoor Interstadial. The Hunteburg Interglacial can be correlated with the interglacial sequences at Harreskov and Ølgod in Jutland (Denmark).
