ABSTRACT

The Hamburg Elbe Tunnel is to be extended by a fourth tunnel tube. The segmental lining is to be optimised by means of various aptitude tests. These include shearing and flaking tests as well as trials relating to torsional rigidity and load transference and a large-scale 1:1 test with original segments. The planning for the test series has been concluded and the test facilities are being set up. The tests are scheduled to be carried out in 1996 und 1997.
