ABSTRACT
The paper presents the results of the research supported by the National Research Foundation, Hungary (Grant No.: Τ 007399), carried out in the Department of Geotechnics, Technical University of Budapest, Hungary. Investigations were carried out determining the soil physical properties on sand — bentonite mixtures. The permeability, the compacting factor, the shrinkage was investigated by changing the mixture ratio in 10 % increments. The effect of the mixing methods to the homogeneity of the mixture are also discussed.
