ABSTRACT
In a southern Romanian village, the inhabitants have sued juridical action against the local mining company considering that the instability phenomena brought about by the coal quarry and the new sterile dump situated near the village, are the main causes of their buildings damages. Many buildings have been monitorised (129) and 19 geotechnical boreholes were performed. Inclinometric tests were performed during the year 1996 in 15 boreholes spread on four calculus profiles. A complex stability analysis was performed and the results are pointed out in this paper.
