ABSTRACT

Compaction of fly ash is an effective way to improve the properties of the embankment material, such as: strength improvement, compressibility reduction, and loss of permeability. The samples were compacted by Standard Proctor and Modified Proctor methods at various moisture content in order to define dry density-water content relationship and determine the correlation between both dry density and water content, then values of the shear strength, the penetration resistance and the permeability.
