ABSTRACT
This paper provides a detailed description of cyclic loading tests performed on a large square shallow foundation (1 m × 1 m) installed on two natural soils (a silt and a sand). The main results are detailed and compared with those obtained from static loading tests. Practical informations to estimate the behaviour of shallow foundations under cyclic loading are given.
