ABSTRACT

A development of the geological model of the Golovec tunnel designed in permo-carboniferous clastites is presented. The results of the first stage of geotechnical investigations served as the basis for tunnel design. During the earthworks in the southern portal area a landslide occurred. The remedial measures were designed based on additional investigations. As the construction continued additional movements deep under the surface started. Only the extensive third investigation stage gave an explanation of previous events.
