ABSTRACT

A plasma-sprayed hydroxyapatite (HAp) coating for titanium implant materials with intermediate layer of glass coating was used to eliminate the corrosion during prolonged implantation. Experimental implantations of the material proposed was carried out on rabbits. The finite element method (FEM) was used to simulate numerically both the axial loading of idealized bone with double coated implant and push-out test of the latter.
