ABSTRACT

In this chapter, the author identifies some major problems besetting school systems and proposes ways to improve the situation; these remarks include home teaching and the providing of tools to make the process easier for parents and teachers alike. One such type of tool might be well thought-out CD-ROMs to help teach the necessary subjects in ways designed to respect and preserve the child’s creativity. Since a great deal of learning has already taken place before the child enters school, the author proposes to examine how this learning (education) is accomplished in preschool days. Extreme care should be used in making sure that the understanding can be based on words the child already knows the meaning of. Only those curious enough to want to learn will ask questions to find the missing parts of their understanding. Support for the groups that encourage these home learning groups and schools would be a valuable way of encouraging this type of education.
