ABSTRACT

A new approach is proposed for identifying the elastic anisotropic rock parameters in a laboratory enviroment by back analyzing the measured displacements of the simple uniaxial test. The material parameters which should be identified are two Young’s moduli, a shear modulus and two Poisson’s ratios. The Dual Boundary Control method which combines the advantages of both the inverse and the direct approaches is employed in the identification algorithm. The influence of the choice of the measuring locations and the influence of the measuring errors on parameters deviations are investigated. Finally, the practicability of the proposed method is examined through numerical examples.
